Mister Terrific II [Leader]
Bio: (Via Comixfan) It looked like Michael Holt would live a charmed life. Not only was he brilliant, making a fortune working for companies like Tylerco, but he was an excellent athlete. But all this came to an abrupt end when his wife Paula was killed in an auto accident. Filled with grief, Michael decided that all that was left for him was to take his own life.Michael was stopped by nearly being mugged and an appearance by the Spectre. Seeing in Holt something that reminded him of Terry Sloane, the original Mr. Terrific, the Spectre told Holt of Sloane, and how he used his abilities to set a good example for those who idolized criminals and gangsters. Thinking of kids who had tried to mug him, Michael used his know-how to become the new Mr. Terrific.
While Michael worked for some time providing a good example for urban youth, he eventually encountered Sand, chairman of the new JSA, and Sand invited him to come and meet the team. Mr. Terrific became a member of the JSA in time to aid the team against Kobra, and used his T-Spheres, floating mechanical orbs of many different kinds, to distract Kobra as the JSA freed his prisoners.
Michael proved to be an asset to the team. He helped save Sentinel during the attack on the JSA by Johnny Sorrow’s Injustice Society, and was essential when the team was pulled to Thanagar to help in the return of Hawkman and the defeat of Onimar Synn. He often was working with the new Dr. Mid-Nite, Pieter Cross, and the two became friends.

With Hawkman returned, chairmanship of the JSA was called into question, and a vote was taken. To his surprise, Michael was named chairman, just in time for one of his own T-Spheres, co-opted by the villainess Roulette, to kidnap much of the team. He was pitted against Mid-Nite in a chess game where the loser would be electrocuted, but they were able to force a stalemate, and escape. Roulette sent the JSA back, but she had sworn revenge against Michael, and has yet to make her move.
Mr. Terrific continued to be chairman of the JSA, working with the team through a major battle with the Ultra-Humanite. On his next major mission with the team, Michael was tossed back in time with Hawkgirl while fighting Black Barax, and met Terry Sloane. The two found their common ground and worked well together, before going back in time even further to ancient Egypt to find the time displaced Captain Marvel. Upon his return to the present, Michael was badly injured by Mordru, the Dark Lord, during the conspiracy between Mordru, Eclipso, and Obsidian. Later, while fighting a villain called Legacy, Mr. Terrific had to make peace with Paula’s memory, only to learn that, at the time of her death, she was pregnant.
When former JSA allies Black Adam and Atom Smasher, along with a cadre of other heroes, seized control of Adam’s native country of Kahndaq, Hawkman appeared and ordered the JSA to follow him to the country to help him stop Adam. The battle was costly, seeing the deaths of many of Adam’s allies, and Terrific was forced to ask Hawkman to step down from the Society.
When the Spirit King, the spectral villain who was responsible for the death of Terry Sloane, returned from the dead, Michael found himself dealing with the ideas of Hell and an afterlife, things he did not believe in. While helping Dr. Mid-Nite protect his clinic from the dead armies of the Spirit King, he was attacked by the King, possessing the body of the Flash as he did when he killed Sloane. Near death, Michael met the spirits of his departed wife and child, and found a new wellspring of faith. When the time traveling fascist Per Degaton went back in time and changed the history of the JSA, Michael was one of the current team members who went back in time to put it right. Finding himself in the 1950s, Michael had to face the racism of the time while hunting down Terry Sloane. He found Sloane, who was in New Orleans taking the infant daughter of his ne’er-do-well brother from that era’s Roulette, explaining why Roulette believed herself to be Sloane’s granddaughter and her grudge against Michael for “stealing” Sloane’s name.
Michael convinced Sloane to take up his heroic identity again, and helped stop Degaton’s plan before returning to the present. Michael had to lead the team again into Kahndaq, this time to aid Black Adam against the rogue Spectre and the Eclipso-possessed Jean Loring. The team made it out of the mission alive, but hardly unscathed, with Atom Smasher badly injured and Jakeem Thunder presumed dead. Mister Terrific remains chairman, and will see the team through these troubled times
Mr. Terrific is an excellent athlete, and is in peak physical shape. But his chief attribute is his keen intellect. He has a photographic memory, and can apply and collate all the knowledge he acquires at an amazing rate. He designed the T-Spheres, floating orbs that can be used as video cameras, communication devices, and can project hard light holographs.

Carter became a hero, fighting throughout the forties sometimes alone, sometimes with the Justice Society, where he often served as chairman, the All-Star Squadron, and with Sheira, who took on the identity of Hawkgirl. He fought the good fight until the Justice Society was called before HUAC, and like many of his contemporaries, he retired, married Sheira, and the two had a son, Hector.
Returning to Earth, Carter found it hard to adjust. Kendra refused his advances, unable to accept the tales of destined love. The two made peace, became friends, and both relocated to the city of St. Roch. A dark city riddled with corruption, Carter encountered many of his old enemies, including the Gentleman Ghost and a new incarnation of Hath-Set. While confronting a new threat called the Headhunter, Carter gave into the barbarian rage that had been brewing within in and had been haunting him since his reincarnation.

To keep the public unaware of the "Neverland" mutant concentration camp, Mesmero posed as a government liaison. With this identity, he informed news reporters that "Neverland" doesn't exist nor is the government involved in abducting mutants.
